Now over the years, I’ve tested out and researched a lot of ways to make money using the Internet…Like, a lot of ideas 😅

Plenty of ideas were massive failures. I lost money on quite a few ventures too. And for many of the businesses I ended up scaling, they actually took 6-12 months to even get off of the ground.

This is the nature of building online assets that pay you.

But when you need quick cash…You don’t always have this sort of runway.

That’s why today, I’m sharing 5 proven side hustles you can use to realistically make $1,000 in extra income over the next month or so.

To be clear, these aren’t ideas that are going to scale and let you replace your day job. BUT they are ideas that can help you get some breathing room, beef up your savings, and get the ball rolling.

Craigslist is a side-hustler’s goldmine when it comes to making a quick buck.

You can search the ‘cash gigs’ section in your city and find tons of people paying solid rates for help with random tasks.

Moving gigs, cleaning, painting, temporary shift work, pet sitting, and all kinds of random gigs get posted every day.

There’s some pretty lucrative ones too. Like I found this research study in LA paying people $400 to test out a wellness app over 4 hours 👇

New gigs get posted every hour in major cities. You have to sift through some nonsense and weird jobs, but there’s money to be made.

Bonus churning is one side hustle I do 4-5 times per year. This makes me roughly $1,000 to $2,000 annually with a few hours of work.

💵 What’s bonus churning? 👉 Well, as it turns out, plenty of banks and other financial institutions will pay you for your business. So you can get some pretty solid cash bonuses for doing things like opening checking accounts or moving your money around brokerages.

If you search on Google for a list of bank bonuses, you’ll find plenty.

You can also use reward platforms like Kashkick to find very solid offers.

For example, Kashkick has an offer which pays people $255 for opening a free Chime checking account and moving their direct deposit funds over.

Kashkick has plenty of other FinTech and banking bonuses too. In the next 30-60 days, you can realistically make over $500 just by churning through offers on this platform.

Everyone knows about delivering food for Uber Eats or DoorDash by now. And honestly, the gig economy gets a lot of flak because of low-paying gigs and vehicle depreciation.

However, there’s a world of more niche gig apps with WAY higher payouts. Many of them put far less mileage on your vehicle as well.

The gig economy is still a grind. But if you want to make money quickly, it’s one of the most direct routes possible.

I make money with focus groups every year. It’s another side hustle with amazing hourly potential.

User Interviews is my main platform.

It pays you to chat with researchers, generally over Zoom calls. A few months ago, I actually earned $200 for having a 45 minute chat with a researcher about how I use AI for my businesses.

It’s quite niche, and landing studies consistently is tough. You can also check out Respondent and Dscout for more opportunities.

Sometimes, it’s easier to save $100 than figuring out a way to make an extra $100.

That’s why my last tip for this email is to take an afternoon to run a deep financial audit.

I’m not talking about taking 3 minutes to cancel a subscription you’re not using either…

Here’s what I am suggesting:

All of these tasks might take you 2-3 hours at most and some annoying phone calls. But you can genuinely save $500 to $1,000+ per year if you do this. Absolutely worth it!

If I was trying to make $1,000 as fast as possible, these sorts of ideas are where I’d start honestly.

I write about starting one-person businesses all the time. This is still my favorite strategy to build serious wealth and to transform your career and life. BUT, if you’re trying to build up some breathing room, I wouldn’t start out with a business.
